Jing De Zhen Orphanage, JiangXi Province

This orphanage cares for 20 older children between the ages of 7 and 18 years old - - 13 girls and 7 boys.  Some of the children have special needs.  We are happy to note that all the needs were funded for the children of Jing De Zhen - - Our thanks to several donors. 

Medical/Physical Needs:                                                                                                                                 - A solar heater for the orphanage to heat hot water for the children.                                                                                                                                                              - A hearing aid for a severly hearing-impaired child.                                                                                   - A respirator/ebulizer and supplies for when the children are sick.                                                        - New mattresses and blankets for the beds of all 20 older children.                                                                                                                                                              - A new pair of shoes and clothes set for each of the older children.                                                    - Heaters for all the children's rooms.       

Educational/Training Needs:                                                                                                                          - backpacks for the children attending school.                                                                                            - 5 bicycles for some of the older children to ride to school and for recreational purposes.             - table and chair sets for the older children for use in their studies                                                        - 2 computers for the children's studies.                            

Social/Emotional Needs:                                                                                                                           The following items were funded by Raising Hope Interntational (thanks, RHI!):                                 - 4 badminton sets                                                                                                                                            - 4 ping pong sets                                                                                                                                             - 4 basketballs                                                                                                                                                   - 4 baseballs                                                                                                                                                      - 8 hula hoops                                                                                                                                                    - 8 soccer balls                                                                                                                                                  - 4 tennis balls/racquet sets                                                                                                                    Also funded:  - a birthday cake, 2 t.v. sets for the group rooms, and a field trip.       

Funding for the items supplied totaled:  $3,371.61.  We are waiting on pictures of the children receiving their gifts, and will post these on the website when they become available.
